Rock’in shoot

Took a break recently  from the hustle and bustle of commercial shoots to do a senior portrait session. I do a few a year as my schedule allows and I am always amazed at the talent of our youth. Casey is a neighbor that we have watched grow up in our church. She is on the praise team. She is absolutely the most musically talented teen I have ever met. Ever. I am always blown away when she participates in the praise band. She sings and on any given Sunday can play just about any musical instrument ever made. When mom, Sheri (who is an equally amazing praise band member), asked if I would do the shoot I was all in. We batted around some ideas and came up with Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast outside of Carlisle, PA (www.pheasantfield.com). This breathtaking, historical place has a horse hotel in a 1700’s era barn that made for a fantastic setting. I wanted to keep the images simple and clean while capturing her personality, spirit and musical aura. My favorite location by far was in and around that barn…inside the horse barn we found an amazing, warm space (no horses there that day) that had a timeless feel. I shot everything with one large soft box powered off a battery pack. Although I shot everything in color I love B&W and hence I converted these few for the post. Thanks to Kitty at Pheasant Field B&B for her great hospitality and thanks to Casey and Sheri for a great photo shoot!
